Our Global Client, is seeking a Test Lead to be based in Central London on an initial 9 month contract.
The Test Team
The different phases of testing that fall under the remit of the Test team, and in which, consequently, the Test Analyst may be required to work, include for both new and existing programmes:
·System/Functional Testing, where the individual components of the system under test will be evaluated against functional requirements for conformance and completeness against the original specification and any specific acceptance criteria.
·System Integration Testing, where the functions of a system are tested end to end to process data inputs and static data from up-stream systems and processed to fulfil functions and send data to downstream systems for subsequent processing. There may be occasions where systems integration testing commences before all constituent parts are ready, and in such an instance a strong knowledge of how to manage test harnesses, stubs, drivers and simulated data responses is paramount.
·User Acceptance Testing, where scenarios are developed in concert with the user community to test that the system under development will support the business when it goes live, or if not, assessing the risk and impact of going live with known faults and workarounds. Automation is also used to facilitate faster regression testing.
Testing will take place in a shared environment, so collaboration with others is critical in the identification of the appropriate test data to use in that shared environment and how the interaction of planned tests all round may impact expected results. The key to success in this phase is a strong understanding of trade settlements, terms and terminology of the banking worked and an ability to translate that knowledge into cogent scripts that prove whether a system does or does not fulfil the requirements intended.
The Operational Environment
Our Client has a HP toolset to manage its test assets, including:
·Application Lifecycle Management for test management and management information; and
·Quick Test Professional and Unified Test Professional for automation - an area we are growing rapidly to reduce the cost of regression testing whilst increasing coverage.
Microsoft Project is used for project planning and resource management.
Most of our software is developed internally using a number of methods that include waterfall and V-Model. We operate a number of platforms to deliver our home-grown system trading settlement services to the City. These include Tandem, Windows, UNIX, SWIFT messaging and CREST proprietary messaging. You are not expected to have all these skills. Training will be provided for the successful candidate.

About the Role
We are looking for an ISEB/ISTQB certified Test Lead with 2-3 years test management experience. Specific 'Systems Integration' and 'User Acceptance' testing experience is required. This is to be combined with experience of managing risk based test projects.
The role ideally requires someone who has worked in the financial market, preferably settlement, with experience of working with cross location teams contributing to business and infrastructure change. A proven understanding of the full project lifecycle and financial markets is required.
Your role in the London Test Team will be also be to support the development of test assets that display the characteristics of quality, schedule and manage the Test Team's activity to meet project goals.
The role is based in London, although occasional travel to other site and may be required e.g. Brussels, Paris, Nordic countries.
·Strong test analysis experience
·Use of exploratory testing techniques
·Experience of working in the finance industry
·A strong understanding of trade settlements and the terms and terminology used
·Hands on experience of the TCS BaNCs platform with expertise covering Settlement and Corporate Actions
·Have strong testing techniques that can be used to underpin the various phases of testing supported by the team
·Systems integration and User Acceptance Testing
·Creation of Test One-Liners, Test Scenarios and Test Scripts
·Strong experience in Defect Management
·Understanding and experience of risk based testing
·ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing
