Job Description

Our client is looking for a Technical Software Development Project Manager, this role is responsible for the delivery of a significant strategic project.
The position will project-manage by working closely with all aspects of the development community: Product Manager, Engineering and a mixed on/offshore development team. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, coupled with a track record of delivering with offshore teams.

Experience and Education:
* 5+ years Software Development Project Management


Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver the project according to the business outcomes, within the cost and schedule constraints defined
* Foster excellent communication across the team
* Build effective interaction models that reflect the off and onshore team structure
* Manage third party suppliers to ensure effective delivery of project scope
* Develop strong working relationships with all project stakeholders
* Assist the team in making the transition to a truly agile model
* Ensure the implementation and adoption of strong agile practices
* Define and drive business outcomes from the delivery of working software
* Resolve the risks and issues that present a barrier to successful delivery of the project
* Influence stakeholders towards a successful mechanism of software delivery
* Identify and make recommendations for improvement to existing software development processes and procedures
* Interface with other technical personnel and product managers to finalise requirements
* Report to the projects stakeholders on progress, escalating issues and risks where necessary
* Assess resource demand and review resource allocation for projects
* Maintain ownership of and accountability for the project schedule
* Work with the Development Manager to ensure that the development processes, coding good practices, and code reviews are implemented
* Manage and encourage new ideas from staff to foster improvements through innovations


Required Skills and Experience:
* Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and an ability to apply them appropriately and without dogma
* Excellent relationship building skills
* A focus on and an ability to deliver continuous improvement/Kaizen
* Strong experience with various resource models such as Managed Services and/or Staff Augmentation
* An ability to identify, assess and manage risks to project delivery
* Good understanding of contemporary project delivery tools such as Jira and Confluence
* Strong stakeholder relationship management skills
* Strong organisation/project planning, time management, and change management skills across multiple functional groups and departments
* Strong delegation skills involving prioritising and prioritising projects and managing projects of various size and complexity.
* Strong communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills applicable to a wide audience including senior and executive management
* An ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders
