Job Description

Areas of responsibility:

*Provide a medical perspective to the development of UK medico-marketing strategy and contribute to the design and approval of promotional materials in order to position and support the Company's products to ensure compliance with minimum risk to the business
* Provide medical interpretation of data required for reports (e.g. Health Technology Appraisals, Expert Statements, PSURs, Drug Safety Medical Assessments) within specified timeframes to ensure accurate understanding and support to business KPIs
* Actively contribute to the development of Phase IV study programmes and facilitate the Investigator Initiated Study Process to meet divisional and business objectives
* Take a lead role in the medical plan for the managed entry of products into the market place and be responsible for maintaining product specific business plans
Provide medical training to field force representatives and other internal customers on a regular basis to ensure maximum effectiveness in message delivery.
* Lead advisory boards for key opinion leaders providing facts and data in line with company's ethical
* Assist with the investigation and resolution of problems which arise in the Medical and Scientific Affairs team and Medico- marketing teams to ensure smooth product acceptance within designated society and business goals are met
Share knowledge and technical expertise with other team members to assist their learning and maximise the efficiency of the Medical Division

Other responsibilities may include:
Competitor infringements of the Code of Practice expertly identified having led the process from initial advice and decision making, through inter company dialogue to conclusion in consultation with brand team
* Incoming complaints expertly defended having led the process from initial complaint receipt to conclusion in consultation with brand team
* Displayed an in-depth knowledge of relevant publications and recommendations for key messages pro-actively made
* Played an active part in KOL development, establishing good relations through peer communication which enhanced and complimented brand team effort
Key information from symposia/congresses/meetings fed back
* Effectively supported core brand team as required at congresses
* Willingly and expertly provided training to the sales team in order for representatives to discuss key data effectively with customers
* Timely review of material while providing constructive, relevant, authoritative
comments and suggestions
* Actively looked for and created opportunities for the brands in terms of IIS, secondary publications and PMS
* Fully engaged in the brand planning process, utilising expert product and therapy area knowledge to provide constructive guidance, comments and suggestions to the core brand team
* Effective issue management, through provision of expert, authoritative and timely medical advice in response to issues
* Maintained excellent relations with Corporate Medical Affairs

Experienced and qualifications requirements:

Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical industry;
Extensive knowledge of developments in the therapy area of cardiovascular and metabolism
GMC registered physician
Registered pharmacist may be considered if they have substantial experience in leading role in Medical Affairs set up
Experienced in medical affairs in UK
Strong publications and analytical skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work full time, Office based preferred
Some domestic and international travel
