Job Description

Software Development Engineer in Test - London - 3 months' initial contract - £500 - £550p/d

My client a Global scientific publishing company are looking for someone who is experienced as a Software Developer in Test.


*Forming the bridge across a multi-functional agile team of developers, testers, architects, POs and DevOps engineers to ensure automated testing solutions are implemented throughout the delivery pipeline.
*Provide early engagement on project inception phases to steer test approach to include automated testing where required.
*Development and maintenance of automated test frameworks, complex automated tests, mocks and stubs and automated test data solutions.
*Identify and effectively communicate technical issues, risks and inter-component dependencies.
*Responsible for the generation of project test plans, test cases and scripts with clear, testable acceptance criteria.
*Focused on identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
*Create technical documentation.


*Proven experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test or equivalent in a high-traffic environment.
*Experience with several programming environments, eg. Java, Ruby, Python, AngularJS, nodeJS.
*Web services experience, primarily REST with JSON. a must.
*Experience with common test automation tools such as Cucumber, JBehave, Serenity or Guage.
*Creation, execution and reporting of performance testing highly desirable.
*Experience with very large datasets and appreciation of data isolation in a multi-tenanted SAAS platform.
*Experience with at least one noSQL database desirable.
*Experience using test management tools for planning, execution and reporting (eg; JIRA, TestRail)
*Working knowledge of cloud environments especially AWS and automated infrastructure important.
*Fluent verbal and written English
