A Software Asset Analyst is urgently required to join a leading financial organisation on a contract basis. The role can be based in either Hertfordshire or North Yorkshire.
As the Software Asset Analyst you will have experience and knowledge to be able to produce a license compliance report using raw data for the major vendors such as Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, VMware and other desktop products.
The main purpose of the role is:
* To assist the IT Asset Manager in ensuring that IT assets are received, deployed, recovered and disposed in accordance with organisational policies as well as national and local legislation.
* Support IT Asset Manager with reporting such as noncompliance, unused software to assist in reducing the overall spend.
* Assist in planning, monitoring, and recording software license and/or hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts.
Essential skills and experience
*Minimum of 2 years' experience of software asset management and specifically to be familiar of the license models and metrics that are associated with vendors such as Oracle, HP, IBM, Microsoft, VMware, and other desktop products.
*Knowledge and capability to produce license compliance position using raw data.
*Good Excel skills (pivot tables and lookups are essential)
*Possess the capability and motivation to achieve personal and team objectives.
*Diligent and thorough approach to problem solving.
*Self-motivated and able to work with a degree of autonomy.
*Familiarity with Aspera SmartTrack or other license tools such as Flexera or Snow.
*Experience of using SCCM or Express Metrics software demand data.
