Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist | £36-40K (DOE) + £4.5K Car Allowance | Forest Row, East Grinstead

My client is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist to report to the Infrastructure Solutions Architect. The purpose of the role will be to provide technical and operational management for all desktop and Infrastructure support, leading / developing the 2nd line Support team and providing 'hands on' technical expertise for Systems Administration activities across a range of technologies

This is an opportunity to join a successful privately owned construction, development, maintenance and management group operating throughout England.

Responsibilities

*To take primary responsibility for day to day operation and proactive management of all IT Infrastructure operational activities across desktop, Server and Network activities taking appropriate action to ensure ongoing optimal performance of the IT Infrastructure to include:
*Leading a team of 2nd line technical support staff and managing their operational workloads
*Ensuring that all incidents and service requests are logically, efficiently and accurately resolved and performance reported against
*Liaising with other team members, employees, third party suppliers and support organisations as necessary
*Installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of desktops, telephony equipment, software, peripheral devices.
*Managing Systems Administration
*Driving forward continual improvement by recommending operational developments / processes that would benefit the business.
*Manage business expectations / SLA's
*Provide clear, current updates and documentation
*Minimise exposure to risk and adhere to business standards and processes

Performance Indicators

*Providing technical guidance for the IT support team
*Clearly defining tasks, allocating appropriately to the team, manage workloads and provide clear updates to management

*Storage SAN/Back up/ Email & File System Archiving
*VMWare - VSphere 5.1 Enterprise, Citrix, MS Exchange, Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, Active Directory
*Desktop Management Technologies
*Windows Desktop XP and Windows 7
*Office 2003, 2007 and 2010
*IP Telephony
*ITIL
*Standard project management tools such as Microsoft Project
