Programme Manager

An exciting opportunity exists to join a cross sector team delivering the Controls & Instrumentation system for the next generation of Submarine. The project is a unique collaboration between the Submarines team and the Civil Aerospace Control Systems SCU.

For an allocated workscope on behalf of the Head of Programme for C&I, you will deliver a mature validated solution for the entire life cycle for both Product and Supply Chain. You will provide a clear line of sight from the Component IPTs to the CFBU for the allocated suite of component deliverables.

Key accountabilities:
*Programme manage and deliver the allocated work scope agreed with the Head of Programme for C&I.
*Deliver the validated, mature component solutions and products to meet project requirements, timescales and cost.
*Provide programme leadership and support to the cross functional IPTs delivering the allocated workscope
*Ensure cost reporting tools are maintained for the workscope of the IPTs
*Ensure that the workscope of the IPTs is designed, verified and supplied in line with the Company's safety policy and processes
*Ensure all activities are fully compliant with the applicable quality management systems, in particular ensure IPPR and PPAP are robustly executed throughout the workscope of the IPTs.
*Manage the allocated budget for the IPTs as delegated by the Control Account Manager (CAM) for C&I
*Establish a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Organisational Breakdown Structure (OBS) and Responsibility Accountability Matrix (RAM) for the IPTs and deploy the Project Management Plan to ensure the successful delivery and verification of all IPTs requirements in line with Integrated Product and Production Readiness (IPPR)
*Develop and maintain detailed and committed cross functional plans, budgets and statements of work for the allocated IPTs from Project kick-off through to Production Readiness in line with the Project Management/Business Plans
*Implement effective Risk Management in line with the Project RMP within the IPTs and be the Risk Leader for the IPTs
*Ensure appropriate resources are deployed to complete the agreed workscope and that they are effectively directed and co-ordinated
*Ensure any functional resource gaps are identified and addressed in a timely manner
*Develop & communicate the plan through an appropriate reporting mechanism for delivering the workscope on time and to specification, managing Project non-recurring costs, component hardware costs & resources to deliver the plan
*Report status in accordance with the Project PMP. Establish an appropriate reporting and communication mechanism within the IPTs
*Establish and maintain an effective cross functional team to deliver the workscope of the IPTs, in doing so embed HPC principles within the Team

Qualifications

Extensive experience of Programme management.
*Qualified to degree level in an engineering or project management discipline.
*Demonstrable experience in the planning and execution of complex engineering and production projects
*Experience in the leadership of cross functional and geographically separated teams
* tenacious problem solver with an uncompromising drive to deliver schedule cost and quality objectives
