Job Description

Principal Instrumentation & Controls Engineer
Location: options available for Midlands or North East
Salary: up to £50k + benefits package

During a significant period of investment and forming part of a specialist centralised project team you will be responsible for delivering controls and instrumentation expertise to this global manufacturing leader.

You will ensure capital projects which deliver improved manufacturing capability or productivity improvements are effectively delivered; taking overall responsibility for the control system elements in project scope, specification through to installation and commissioning.

Significant projects are scheduled for key sites in the Midlands and North East so proximity to either site will be considered. Also there will be a requirement for you to support project activity across the sites with travel, and if necessary accommodation provided.

With significant experience in managing C&I projects you will have proven technical ability in the design and programming of automation systems for the manufacturing or process environments. Ideally this experience will be within highly regulated contexts but a strong professional background within automation systems including extensive controls (PLC, SCADA, drives, motion control) will enable you to be successful.

With a strong academic background ideally you will be Chartered or working towards Chartership and demonstrate comprehensive project engineering and project management capability within high value capital projects.

In return you will be joining a global manufacturing leader with scope to cover projects across multiple sites with a competitive package and extensive personal and professional development opportunities.
