Job Description


A leading financial organisation based in Bedfordshire requires an experienced Non Functional Test Analyst to take ownership of the non-functional testing function for a project under the direction of the Test Lead. To execute tests and report and track defects found to resolution.

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

* Proven capability to use LoadRunner to plan, script, run, analyse and report on Non Functional tests
* Proven non-functional testing skills and estimation skills
* Excellent knowledge of Performance Centre
* Experience of high volume transaction processing systems
* Excellent knowledge of SQL
* Excellent knowledge of Java
* Good working knowledge of Unix with the ability to create shell scripts
* Excellent experience of working within Agile and Waterfall software development environment
* Ability to communicate both internally and externally with an awareness of confidentiality and risk.
* Flexibility to take on new projects and new ways of working.
* Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to find solutions to issues

Key accountabilities and duties:

* To verify that new or upgraded applications meet specified Non Functional Requirements
* To assist in the bid and estimating process for Non Functional Testing
* To create and gain sign off from the stakeholders for the Non Functional Test strategies, test plans and test scripts
* To plan load tests, create virtual users, create data, create scenarios, run scenarios, analyse system under load
* To define the business load model and business processes to simulate during the load test Manage defects throughout the test lifecycle using Rational ClearQuest, Quality Centre and Jira
* To ensure all risks and issues are reported, escalated and managed through to resolution
* To engage with the requirements team resolving any points of clarification with respect to Non Functional test requirements
* To liaise with Release Management on deploying the latest release of code for testing
* To develop and maintain testing artefacts, processes and procedures and ensure these apply across all Non Functional Testing projects
* Initiate and become actively involved in improvement initiatives
* Deputise for the Non Functional Test Lead
* To carry out any other task associated with the role as reasonably requested
