Our client, a global market leader, has the exciting opportunity for a Network Lead Deployment Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. The role can be based in either their Kent or Surrey office and can have the opportunity to work from home a few days a week.
The Lead Deployment Engineer is responsible for implementing network solutions and changes in support of Project and Client Management requirements, supporting all elements of the client's network and its external client base.
The Lead Deployment Engineer is required to collaborate with Network Technical Design Authorities, Project/Programme Managers, and clients to implement solutions based on approved designs to the required timescales. You will be capable of implementing Network solutions in an efficient and effective manner with the emphasis being on service excellence and right first time delivery. In addition, the Lead Deployment Engineer will assist with any necessary follow up troubleshooting to resolve issues and updating documentation as required.
Candidates are expected to have a demonstrable background in the implementation of large-scale Network Architecture projects, an understanding of how network technologies impact on and are impacted by other IT infrastructure technologies, and should be used to working within a controlled Change Management environment.
Candidates should have in excess of five years real-world Network Support and Delivery experience.
*Key technical skills include:
oRouting & Switching (Cisco) - Core skill needed
oFirewall Solutions (Palo Alto and Cisco with some Juniper/Checkpoint)
*Very experienced with 3rd/4th Line Network Support
*WAN (MPLS & CPE)
Have a good standard of General Education including GCSE/O-Level passes in English & Maths
*Hold current Security Clearance (SC) vetting or be able to achieve SC vetting as part of their probation period (this means having worked in the UK for a minimum of 5 yrs)
*Load Balancing (F5) experience
*Campus LAN & Security solutions. Datacentre/Nexus skills would be beneficial.
*Any exposure to Cisco or Aruba Wireless solutions, or VoIP (Avaya CM, Cisco UC, Lync & Lync Enterprise Voice) would also be of benefit
*Candidates will be expected to have demonstrable senior experience, and will likely be working towards achieving a CCIE or similar accreditation
