Job Description

My client is a global Telecommunications company and they are looking for an experienced Network Engineer who has a strong focus and experience within Voice to join their team and be based on a client site in London.

Role and Responsibilities:
The client that you will be supporting within this role is a large financial services customer, whose network encompasses 100+ locations worldwide. This position will be working as part of a worldwide team providing 24/7 support providing LAN and WAN services, Internet connectivity, remote access services, network proxies, and Voice services. The primary responsibility will be coordinating various remote work centres and to deal with escalations from the client. There is a high degree of client interaction as the role is based on a client site and will involve you taking ownership and responsibility for all the delivered services, ensuring that KPI's & SLAs are being met.

Key Competencies and Skills:
Required Skills:
-Qualified and experienced Cisco engineer, preferred certification is CCVP (minimum CCNA, CCNP preferred)
-Qualified and experienced Cisco Voice CCVP Cisco Call Manager
-Knowledge of Cisco products (incl Catalyst 4500/6500 switches, Catalyst 2900 and 3550 switches, ASA series firewalls.
-Good communication skills (Oral and written)
-Team player - ability to work within a team, but also work alone.

Desirable Skills:
-Understanding of Voice Recorders
-Understanding of Riverbed Optimizers
-Understanding of Cisco & Checkpoint firewalls
-Understanding of Voice dealer systems ( BT / IPC)
-Knowledge of Network management & reporting tools

Education and Qualifications:
-Experience in networking, predominately Cisco.
-Degree in IT or network Engineering or equivalent experience in network environment with prominence in voice technologies.

Additional Information:
Working hours: 40 hrs per week 9.00am - 5-.00pm or 8.00am - 4.00pm there is also a requirement to be on call approximately once per month over a weekend to deal with client escalations.
