Lead Engineer - Electro/Mechanical

Mechanical and Electrical Investigations within a world leader in the design, development, manufacture and maintenance of pressure sensor technology.

Role Summary:

A Lead Electronic-Mechanical Engineer is required to head up product failure investigations.
This role will provide first class investigations and support our customers who demand rapid investigations to root cause.

This growing division is looking for the finest candidates to provide first class Engineering support.
The role will provide technical support for internal and external customers.

Essential Responsibilities:

* Technically lead the investigation of pressure sensor failures for the harsh environments associated with the aerospace industry. Provide support to our sensor returns process engineers as required.
* Design Change Initiation and implementation in accordance with Configuration Control procedures to agreed customer requirements.
* Manufacturing technical support and provide solutions for production related design problems.
* High standard of documentation for evidence of conformity and technical explanation.
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* Reviewing design specifications and requirements in line with the investigation findings
* Supporting external customers, internal sales and marketing functions with root cause analysis
* Continually develop and advance internal operating procedures based on findings from in field failures and analysis
* Partner with our customers in understanding their application and sensor capabilities to determine whether the problem is system or sensor driven.
* Review customer application and test procedures ensuring that they are not inducing failures through their own processes and test set ups.
* Act on data trends providing advice and support to our customer base externally and internally
* Conduct design of experiment to gather decision making data and devise effective solutions
* Proven ability to communicate and articulate findings with customers. Take difficult decisions where potential conflicts in opinion can occur.
* Work closely with the Product Support Manager in determining priorities and meeting our contractual obligations

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic/Mechanical Engineering
* Familiar with Design Change Initiation and Configuration Control requirement's that are essential for the Aerospace environment.
* Experience with PCB design and circuit simulation tools.
* Knowledge of EMC performance and requirements
* Proven ability in low power analogue and mixed signal circuit analysis
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Software packages (Word, Excel, Power point etc)
* Work to deadlines and respond effectively to demanding customer requests.
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills with customers and team members
