Out client has the exciting and rare opportunity for a Junior Information Security Analyst to join them on a permanent position. You will already have some experience within IT but have a desire and passion to work within Information Security.

Required/Preferred Skills & Experience:

·Have a background in information technology, preferably three to four years.
·A strong knowledge of Windows systems and networking protocols.
·Strong written and verbal communication skills
·Previous experience of Security Incident and Event Management systems, File Integrity Monitoring systems, Endpoint Protection systems, Intrusion Prevention systems, and vulnerability management systems would be an advantage.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

·Analysing security events and alerts, tracking events to root cause, and researching and validating suspicious activity.
·Assisting in maintaining and enhancing security event management systems to ensure optimum event management and alerting.
·Analysing file integrity events, tracking events to root cause, and researching and validating suspicious activity.
·Assisting in maintaining and enhancing file integrity monitoring systems to ensure optimum coverage and reporting.
·Managing endpoint protection technologies to ensure all systems are properly protected, investigating and troubleshooting alerts, and performing corrective actions.
·Assisting with the management of intrusion prevention systems, ensuring that they have most recent signatures, are operational and correctly configured, and investigating and advising on excessive malicious activity.
·Maintaining identity and access systems ensuring correct privileges assigned as per user roles.
·Assisting in maintaining vulnerability management systems, ensuing optimum coverage and performance, remediating vulnerabilities and producing reports.
·Assisting with IP asset management and ensuring security technologies are installed, correctly configured, and maintained on all systems.
·Assisting with software inventories and ensuring only authorised applications are installed on systems and investigating any unauthorised software installations.
·Performing hardware inventories and maintaining asset management systems.
·Deputising as the security officer to manage and oversee access and changes to encryption environments and key ceremonies.
Assisting with internal security auditing and preparation for external security audits
