Job Description

My Client who are a global manufacturer based in Bracknell are looking for a Junior Buyer to join their successful sourcing Department.

This is a varied role providing sourcing analytical and operational support to production and outsourcing and will include plant, business and commodity engagement.

Overall Purpose of the job
·Working with internal clients and external suppliers to drive continuous improvement in all areas within Sourcing, including supplier selection, Process2Pay processes, contracting, and supplier performance management.
·Execute projects and ideas to deliver savings and cost avoidance whilst protecting the corporation from additional risk and ensuring continuity of supply.
·Contribute to projects to implement Global & European Sourcing initiatives.
·Work on projects as part of a team to ensure compliance in all areas.
·Promote Sourcing involvement in key business growth initiatives and present opportunities to add value to NPI and Business development projects.
·Collate data, analyse and make recommendations on new projects for savings opportunities and lean Sourcing.
·Develop and maintain databases, spreadsheets or reports as necessary.
Key Job Responsibilities
·Innovate ideas and opportunities to add value to Sourcing processes and contribute to the department savings target.
·Work with Sourcing Buyers and Management to ensure PO systems & process compliance across the region.
·Give internal clients support and advice on purchasing options and Sourcing processes.
·Use Business Objects and GPS reports to communicate data and summaries.
·Approval of Ariba purchase orders and new supplier requests, ensuring compliance to Sourcing procedures.
·Other duties as may be required to support the Sourcing Operations team.
Specific Complexity of the role
·Liaising and communicating with other Sourcing colleagues globally.
·Communicating with a diverse number of people across the Region, both in Functional and Business roles.
·Handling confidential information.
·Communication and negotiation with suppliers.

·Ability to think flexibly.
·Excellent negotiation skills.
·Excellent communication at all levels.
·Ability to work with demanding time-scales to achieve challenging targets.
·Familiar with sourcing & supply-chain concepts.
·Selling concepts to internal clients.
·Ideally, experience of negotiating legal contracts.
·Well organised team player, however self-motivated and effective when working alone.
·PC literate with a good working knowledge of all MS applications.
Key Capabilities

This person will be expected to have flair in dealing with people and be competent in handling all aspects of buying duties. They should be self starters, be able to embrace change and work as part of a team on important Sourcing imperatives and projects.

·GCSE / A Levels are preferred
·Relevant degree qualification is desirable
