Job Description

Electronics Engineer - Design Assurance Testing
Contract: 12 months
Location: Birmingham
Salary: up to £45 per hour.

The Client
Global leader in the design and manufacture of aero engine and marine engine control systems.

The Role
Working as part of a larger team to complete Design Assurance Testing of the product, with individual responsibility for testing of sub-functions within the design, the DAT Engineer is required to develop and perform robust engineering testing of the electronic hardware to ensure the design requirements are met in all operational conditions. Testing is targeted to Safety Critical Analogue and Digital electronic circuits centred on digital processing functions, designed to operate in harsh environmental conditions. This role will involve two distinct phases:
1.Test Plan Development
Using detailed design documentation and sound engineering knowledge, the DAT engineer is expected to develop a series of detailed test plans to provide evidence that the design functions as expected, meets all appropriate company procedures and all applicable design requirements.

2.Hardware Testing and recording
The DAT engineer will be expected to independently organise and perform detailed functional testing in line with previously developed plans and meticulously record results obtained. Cross project communication will be required to negotiate the use of shared resources. In the event of deviations, the engineer will also be expected to investigate the root cause and initiate appropriate changes.

The Candidate
You will be a degree educated Electronics Engineer with extensive experience of design assurance testing or environmental qualification testing within a safety critical environment.
Due the nature of the project only candidates eligible for UK Security Clearance will be considered.
