Job Description

What will be your role?

You will be part of the process tools team consisting of 14 people managing, engineering, implementing and supporting process tools to help the development teams in their daily work. These tools consist of 3 major branches: development tools, automation chains and testing tools. The goal is to perform the setup, roll-out and support of our ASBD (Automatic Software Build & Deploy) platform for .NET applications.
The platform is based on TFS as a versioning control system and it will be automated using Jenkins and must support Sonar & AppScan integrations. Each development team in-scope will own their 'build server' that incorporates these tools, except for TFS which is managed centrally. You'll gather requirements, perform functional and technical analysis, and manage the build and deploy automation for .NET applications maintained by the teams.


What will be your tasks?

Currently the platform is already available as a PoC setup which is used by some application teams already. You're expected to contribute to the architecture of the platform, as well to improve the automation level of it. Together with other people of the team the chain/pipeline will be promoted, intakes are to be organized and best practices are to be defined and implemented.
We must also stimulate the use of the platform. The focus of this all lies within software configuration management, continuous integration, automated testing and the adaptive development.
Finally, developers could also come to you with specific build-issues with their code.

As expert in your field of .NET and TFS you will be asked to train the first line support team to be able to handle basic tasks. More advanced tasks, issues or outages of the platform are to be escalated to you in case of need.
