Job Description

A market leading payments company based in Hertfordshire requires a DevOps Infrastructure Automation Expert on an initial 6 month contract.
Our client are looking for someone to come in and help standardise and automate all of the server and infrastructure build and provisioning, including patching and management tools. Needs to be familiar with policy based management, design and implementation

Essential skills needed.
* Strong hands on knowledge of Unix/Linux
* Strong knowledge of Infrastructure As Code
* Working knowledge of Solaris
* Strong knowledge of MySql / PostgreSQL databases
* Ability to build a network in AWS
* Experienced with administering Docker containers
* Experienced in Configuration Management using Ansible
* Working knowledge of the Atlassian Suite - Crowd, BitBucket, Jira, Confluence, HipChat


* Experience of any CloudFormation, CloudFoundry, Python Boto
* Experience working with Oracle RDBMS, DB2
* Knowledge of Oracle PCA, GCP, Azure
* Working knowledge of container orchestration using Kubernetes, Rancher, Mesos, Swarm

* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to listen, present and communicate solutions clearly and concisely with technical and non-technical audiences

* Ability to assemble a broad set of technologies and services to create a complete solution encompassing application software, middleware, database, hardware, storage, network
* Understanding of solution trade-offs such as cost, scope, timescale, and balance between long-term strategic and short-term pragmatic considerations

* Be a domain expert with regards to DevOps
* Drive a culture of continuous improvement to raise the quality of deliverables
* Act as a mentor to less experienced engineers and be responsible for up skilling where required
* Identify opportunities to strengthen organisational processes, tools and ways of working
