Job Description

Volt are recruiting for a contract Datacentre Migration Project Manager, for a global publishing giant based in Oxfordshire.

The contract is for an initial 4-month period with view to extend, paying £495 per day.

As the Datacentre Migration Project Manager you will perform a key role in the Application Team partnering with Infrastructure supporting the business through the latter stages of a cloud migration and two-fold application migration.

You will have solid experience as a Project Manager for datacentre migrations with significant stakeholder management within technical and business teams. You will have a deep understanding of applications and how they run on infrastructure.

What you'll be doing:

Defines the phasing of deliverables.
Tracks milestones.
Schedules resources.
Evaluates risks and recommends contingency plans.
Ensures resources are assigned appropriately to tasks, manages quality assurance, resolution of issues, status reviews and reporting, implementation of required standards, change control, and compliance with all policies and procedures.
Generally leads a group of technical resources and other IT technical staff, relying on experience and good judgement to plan and accomplish goals.

The skills you possess:

PRINCE2/PMP/PMI certified or equivalent
Experience managing medium and large projects (8-20+ resources/per effort)
Data Centre migration and application management experience.
Experience migrating large database infrastructure and instances.
Experience migrating Oracle and/or Solaris products.
Develop/maintain a migration project plan that describes milestones, major task items, and durations for subsequent detailed planning and execution phases.
Management of technical teams, scheduling and resource allocation.
