Data Warehouse/ETL Manager-Permanent-Teddington-Leading Private Forensic Provider-Up to £80Kpa

Our Client, a Leading Private Forensic Provider, is seeking a Data Warehouse/ETL Manager to be based in Teddington on a permanent basis.

The Data Warehouse/ ETL Manager provides leadership of all aspects of DW activities including oversight of the design and development of the Data Warehouse (DW), oversight/development of the Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes and long-term strategy and technical architecture to meet current and future reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with expert level ETL (SAP Data Services preferred) and SQL experience who is looking for a challenging and fast paced work environment. Experience with SAP BI Applications is a plus.

Key accountabilities

·Design and optimisation of the Enterprise Data Warehouse to meet business requirements
·Scoping and estimation of Data Warehouse activities, including DW roadmap
·Design, direct and develop the ETL process, including data quality and testing
·Management and hands on delivery of ETL/DW to specification and timeline agreed
·ETL performance optimisation and management
·Responsibility for management of the Business Objects BI platform
·Resource and team management of ETL/ Universe developers
·Definition and implementation of change management and ETL development best practice processes
·Definition of meta data standards for the Data Warehouse
·Quality review of DW deliverables
·Define and direct the implementation of security requirements for the Data Warehouse
·Liaison with the DBA team to ensure optimal resource allocation, performance and infrastructure maintenance to support the DW
·Team development and coaching


Candidate specification:

Required knowledge, experience and technical skills

·Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar Analytical discipline or equivalent experience
·Minimum 5 years' relevant experience
·Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques used in Data Warehouse design and development
·Expert-level in Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) development, release and management, ideally SAP Data Services
·Strong expertise in database languages such as SQL and PL/SQL for Oracle 10g and 11g
·Solid understanding of SQL and report design
·Experience in development of Universes, complex reports and dashboards a considerable plus
