Job Description

Business Analyst (Insurance) - London - Initial 6 month contract - £300-£350 per day

I am currently partnering with a Global consultancy who are recruiting for a Business Analyst with experience working in the insurance industry for an initial 6 month contract.

Essential skills/experience:

Extensive experience and knowledge of UK P&C domain - mainly home, motor and pet - products and processes across the value
Experience of working on insurance projects for global insurance organisations
Confidence to challenge in order to see big picture and accelerate to viable and cost justified solutions
Must have experience of requirements (functional and non-functional) gathering and definition, requirements prioritisation, business analysis, use case modelling, process mapping and documentation, business stakeholder management and conducting customer workshops, creating functional specifications, writing test scenarios and conducting business testing.
Understanding of insurance trends, challenges and opportunities for the insurers
Good oral and written communication skills
Good working knowledge and demonstrated ability utilizing policy administration systems, business analysis tools and procedures (Functional Specs, BRD, Modeling tools) to accomplish job.
Good team player, a self-starter and ready to share social time with the team
Working in onsite - offshore delivery models using agile and traditional waterfall methodologies
Able to understand business objectives and requirements
Able to articulate business objectives into requirements, architecture and functional specification
Able to effectively communicate with customers
Able to demonstrate knowledge relating to insurance industry
Build strong working relationships with customer organisation and key stakeholders
Duties will include:

Requirements gathering, customer workshops, requirements definition and prioritisation
Translation of business objectives and requirements into business requirement document and functional specification
Creation of business architecture, business scenarios, requirements management, frameworks and models
Create use cases and test plans - Stakeholder (business and IT) management, effective communication with customers and other team members
Act as a bridge between business and technical teams
Develops and applies specialised knowledge within insurance and business analysis subject
Understands and applies principles, concepts, theories, technologies and standards of insurance field
Builds deeper understanding of products, processes, procedures, customers and organization.
