Job Description

A rare opportunity has arisen with a leading global contract research organization for a hands on Team Lead Biostatistician to join a dynamic and expanding team.

The right candidate will manage project timelines, budgets, and resources. Effectively assign and communicate priorities and work direction to ensure completion of assigned tasks on time and within budget. Oversee the statistical aspects of clinical trials from design through analysis and reporting. Act as the lead statistician on multiple projects. Represent the Biostatistics department within the company and with interactions with client companies and regulatory agencies, as required. Actively be involved with hiring, training and mentoring staff.

Other primary accountabilities include;

- Serve as lead statistician on selected multiple projects
- Manage a project team for multiple projects
- Provide Project Management on Biostatistics only projects
- Allocate and co-ordinate resources within the team to achieve timelines
- Serve as the randomisation statistician on selected projects
- Manage the development of statistical analysis plans, including table, listing and graph specifications
- Prepare and review Statistical Reports, Integrated Summaries of Safety, Integrated Summaries of Efficacy and other documents as required. Contribute statistical methods section for Integrated Clinical Statistical Reports. Review Integrated Clinical Statistical Reports
- Oversee the Quality Review of the statistical reporting of selected projects
- Interact with the sponsor on statistical aspects of the project and present at meetings, as required
- Assist in bidding and business development activities, as required
- Supervise assigned staff by providing employee development, completing performance reviews, planning and documenting development and training

The successful candidate must have the following criteria;

- Strong knowledge of statistical principles underlying clinical trials and strong statistical skills
- SAS programming skills and familiarity of other statistical packages (e.g. StatXact, Nquery) and understanding of database structures
- Good organisational skills across individual projects, managing own and team work loads
- Basic knowledge of statistical principles applied to the design and analysis of clinical trials
- Man-management or mentoring experience
- MS/MA degree in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics or related field
