Job Description

Our client develops a platform that helps to improve processes in the chemistry, production, utilities, ... sectors. How do they do this? A cutting-edge analytics and data mining product working with strong self-developed algorithms.

This company has known a strong growth since its initial start-up and is planning to double in size over the coming year, to be able to support the strongly increasing demand they get at the moment.
Due to this, they are looking to expand their team with multiple software engineers!
They have a young team, backed by several very experienced persons, raising high expectations, but giving a very rewarding culture and job in return.

Would you like to work with state-of-the-art technologies?
Is big data one of those emerging trends that really trigger your interest?
Do you have a strong interest in data mining and machine learning?
Algorithm optimalization is your thing?
You want to make software that's very scalable into the future?
Are you passionate about software development and does it feel more like a hobby than a job?

Then read on for more information around the job!

The product's back-end is written in Java and Clojure. Front-end is AngularJS. Ideally we're looking for people to work full-stack, but with the current situation we're also open for strong pure back-end developers.
Our client's products are still often implemented on their own infrastructure instead of working as SaaS. An experience with multiple big data technologies are a strong plus, as multiple clients have multiple technologies.
Cassandra and Ignite would be a major plus, as well as everything else around Apache.
As they're creating a data analytics platform working with ever growing data sets, scalability is a key component of the code you'll be writing and the algorithms you'll be implementing and optimalizing.
Big data is a buzzword, but when developing big data related software, there are a lot of dangers luring around. Ideally we're looking for people who're used to this and who proactively take measures to make sure everything runs fine.
As an experienced developer, you have a structured mind and understand and follow software engineering best practices.

So you still interested in the job?

Then let us add that next to this awesome job at an awesome company, there are even more advantages!
Unimportant things like a competitive salary package, being part of a very intelligent and international team, experimenting with new cutting edge technologies, having a real impact on technology choices, suggest awesome new features, lots of team events and access to a fine Belgian beer selection (at a very affordable price!).

If you're reading this all and just feel like saying: PLEASE, HIRE ME! Then I would suggest to apply immediately!
