Job title: Associate Director - Communications & PR
Job type: Interim - 12 month contract (maternity cover)
Location: South Buckinghamshire, South East UK
Pay rate: £Negotiable


- My client is a global pharmaceutical company focussed on R&D and manufacturing of
a specialist range of pharmaceutical products and biologics
- We are currently recruiting for them an Associate Director of Communications & PR
with proven international experience


- Key responsibility for the development and delivery of Communications and Public
Relations initiatives to support the company's International Medical Aesthetics
- Development, deployment and measurement of strategic communications campaigns
which support the overall business objectives for key business units
- Full responsibility for the development and implementation of PR projects within
the Medical Aesthetics business to ensure they are delivered on-message, on-time
and on-budget


- Proven knowledge and practice of public relations as it relates to
pharmaceuticals, healthcare and/or wellness
- Ideally, a Bachelors' degree in Science or journalism
- Substantial industrial experience gained from within either the pharmaceutical or
healthcare industry, either via an in-house or PR agency route
- Strong experience of working internationally and good knowledge of ABPI Code of
- Experience of handling media-led issues and understanding of media coverage
likely to cause additional media reactions/comments or cascade to other countries


- Aptitude in the development and deployment of strategic public relations and
communications plans
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
- Strong inter-personal, motivational and influencing skills
- Self-starter able to operate effectively within a matrix organisation
- Excels in a fast paced and dynamic international environment whilst being calm
under pressure
- Sound understanding of the pharmaceutical / healthcare market from a National,
European, International and/or global perspective
- Strong personal management skills including time management, workload
prioritisation, multi-tasking and sharp business acumen
- Fluency in English plus additional language skills a distinct advantage
