Job Description

Analytical Chemist

Analytical Chemist required for a busy contract analytical laboratory in their Chromatography section. My client is an industry leading organisation with a fantastic reputation and friendly team.

This will be a maternity cover which will run until 31 July 2017.

You will be an experienced analytical chemist to work in the chromatography laboratory performing Ion Chromatography (IC) AND HPLC analysis.


Key responsibilities:
·Primarily using IC and some HPLC techniques.
·Perform routine Quality Control testing of raw materials and finished products to Client, in-house and pharmacopoeia methods.
·Providing specialist expertise in the field of IC aiding in the development of new methods and also troubleshooting instruments and analysis.
·Comply with in-house, GMP, GLP and UKAS quality requirements as appropriate
·Ensure that high quality work is carried out in the most efficient manner and minimising error.
·Checking raw data.
·Client liaison and communications.


Candidates Criteria:

·Educated to degree standard in chemistry or related subject (or equivalent)
·Experience in a laboratory performing IC and HPLC analysis Good understanding of GMP
·Experience working in a pharmaceutical Quality Control environment performing pharmacopeia analysis (advantageous)
·Experience with Dionex IC instruments and Chromeleon data system (advantageous)
