To sustain our client's growth, we are looking to expand their R&D department with people who have a strong knowledge of both algorithm optimisation as java development. The algorithms are based on GIS data and aligned with graph theory. You will find large challenges in keeping the software scalable, meaning you'll develop algorithms that are friendly towards run-time and memory usage.
Next to this, you'll be doing quite some coding, making sure the code is clean and of high quality in line with the OO design of the software.
Who would be an ideal profile for this role?
For juniors we expect at least a master's degree in engineering or mathematics and preferably a PhD in computer science, engineering, math or physics.
Seniors need to bring proven experience in both development and algorithm optimisation.
Next to that you show a strong interest towards data structures, graph theory, improving efficiency and complexity analysis. You're also prepared to dig deep into the company's niche subjects which are utility networks (smart grids, heating networks, ...) and telecom (optical fibre).
What would you get in return?
The opportunity to work in a professional and challenging environment with an extremely skilled team while working on cutting-edge innovative products that are recognised all over the world.
You get flexible hours and the opportunity to regularly work from home to also optimise your work/life balance next to your algorithms. The atmosphere is fun with optional board game evenings, movie nights, ... Salary and extra-legal benefits are above the market.
