Role Purpose:

- Lead client accounts by taking ultimate responsibility for overall client service
and financial delivery, identifying opportunities to increase the level of
business
- Represent the client both internally and externally
- Identify and win new business together with senior colleagues to achieve the
financial objectives of the company
- Provide strategic guidance to clients and to internal account teams

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

- Lead, coach and motivate the internal account team, providing support and advice
on client and project issues
- Ensure project teams are focused and motivated to deliver
- Develop close working relationships with team members in order to enable the
provision of regular feedback on performance, both directly and to line managers
- Working with senior editorial colleagues, ensure appropriate account team
resource levels are maintained via effective account team forecasting and
succession planning
- Actively participate in delivery of training and development programmes, coaching
individual team members and leading workshops, where required
- Participate in staff recruitment
- Through effective line management ensure training development and performance
management of all line reports, as required
- Contribute to own accounts through hands-on management of the client and, where
appropriate, liaison with opinion leaders
- Ensure a continuing good relationship with clients and that a consistently
efficient and effective service is provided
- Personally establish positive long-term relationships with appropriate key staff
in client accounts
- Ensure any changes in the internal account team are managed and communicated
appropriately with the client
- Secure profitable ongoing business and also expand the opportunities on accounts
- Provide strategic input/commercial understanding to clients and to the internal
team
