I am proud to be working for one of the well-known medical communication Consultancy who is looking for a driven and experienced Account Director within their people-focused business environment.

The AD has overall financial and strategic responsibility for the account and the management of all team members to ensure effective delivery. The AD ensures that all projects meet client strategic imperatives, ensuring high-level client satisfaction and organic growth opportunities.

Account & project Management:

*Takes overall responsibility of designated accounts, ensuring proactive process and client management
*Works with all members of the team to ensure they take responsibility for exceptional delivery
*Ensures that all members of the team follow internal and external processes so that that all projects are of the highest quality
*Ensures consistency and accuracy of budgets and schedules
*Proactively monitors growth and loss within assigned accounts
*Has a clear and immediate knowledge of financial situation of all assigned accounts
*Liaises closely with clients to monitor satisfaction and proactively gain feedback to ensure steady growth and longevity of accounts
*Leads/directs all client interactions while mentoring others to take increasing responsibility
*Responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with key client contacts to ensure long-term account health and development
*Line manages and mentors more junior team members according to the Obsidian Performance Management process
*Works with other line managers to ensure consistent application of the Performance Management process
*Demonstrates a thorough knowledge and understanding of medical communications
*Able to convincingly discuss the full breadth of medical communications activities
*Has strategic oversight of product lifecycle and required communications initiatives
*Coordinates wider team resources and ensures that schedules are realistic and achievable, monitoring progress against these and identifying and implementing solutions to issues
*Instils the importance of a good work:life balance and works to help team members achieve this. Drives task prioritisation across the team


Qualification

*Preferably PhD, but science degree and significant interest in the area as an alternative and proficiency in Microsoft office (in particular Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
*Proven ability to understand and implement client strategy through delivery of broad range of aligned projects to time and budget without supervision
Line management experience important but not essential
*Coaching/supervision may be required on specific aspects.
*Opinion from other team members encouraged. Expectation of self-motivation and accountability
