Account Manager

Our client a world leader in the production and distribution of industrial gases
is looking to appoint a talented Central Account Manager to be based in Crewe to cover the UK market.


You will be responsible for a geographically designated portfolio of customers with the aim to achieve growth, retention and margin improvement targets in line with the business's overall objectives as well as building strong customer relationships.

The Role

As Central Account Manager, you will proactively identify and drive growth opportunities within existing accounts using the principles of challenger sale, including - cross-selling and up-selling.
You will manage a portfolio to increase Contract penetration whilst maintaining profitability and you will ensure account plans are in place to develop individual account strategies for short, medium and long term partnerships and growth opportunities.
The role involves Account Management Activities including proactive management of price, business rules and commercial terms.
Also, you will be responsible for complaint management for all portfolio customers for pricing disputes and coordination of other issues.

Skills and experience required

You will have proven experience in an Account Management or Business Development type role.
Strong customer service skills and experience in managing customer complaints and the ability to resolve issues to a mutually beneficial solution.
Also functional knowledge and expertise of Outlook, MS PowerPoint, Excel, SAP, Customer Relationship Management Tool & Pricing tools.
You will be an excellent communicator with strong negotiation skills, proactive approach and good organisational skills to prioritise and manage your workload efficiently.

With the requirement for occasional customer visits, this role requires you to have a full UK driving licence.
